Wonderful Tour

This was definitely the way to see the Uffizi. It’s so overwhelming that someone who knows it makes sure you see the important sites and the history!

An afternoon spent well

I couldn't believe how much there was to visit at the Duomo. The complex itself has enough to see to justify the cost of the ticket. I spent the entire afternoon taking my time exploring the Baptistery, museums, and the rest of the building. Before sunset, I climbed the Duomo and caught a wicked view of Florence.

Awesome experience, terrible third party tour operator

The Duomo is an incredible experience and an absolute must while in Florence. However, I would recommend saving time, money, and stress by buying your tickets directly from the official ticket office in Florence. Firstly, I was sent two separate confirmations - one for the actual time we booked and one for an hour earlier. As it turned out, neither time was actually the time that we were let in. Secondly, it was entirely unclear where to find the tour company we had to collect the tickets from - we spent 20 minutes walking around Piazza Duomo to eventually find that Visit Europa were in the basement of a coffee shop, with zero signposting. Lastly it turned out we had paid €7 for the privilege of all of this, as the price marked on the tickets themselves said they were only €18 each rather than the €25 we paid. Save yourself a hassle and book direct.
