Amazing

did the full tour and saw under the stage and throughout and we lived every minute. The only problem we had was that the tickects were messed up and we had to have a ticket for 6 which meant we had to join a group of 3 others so that we could all go to the roman forum after which was a pain and should not of hapoened, luckily the 3 people we had to join with were loverly people so was not a problem however if they werent it could have coursed a problem but overall without this issue it was the highlight of out trip. ..Read less

Fabulous experience!

Our day at the Colosseum was fantastic and the extra expense for underground and Belvedere was 100% worth it! Entry was quick and easy and we skipped the line on a day that was particularly crowded, yet we felt like ..Read All

we had the Colosseum practically to ourselves on the tour. Our guide was an Italian archeologist with a passion for Roman history and architecture. She was fantastic and led us on an educational and streamlined tour of the underground, stadium and Belvedere. After our tour had ended, our delightful host escorted us to the Palatine. I can whole-heartedly recommend this tour and - it was a top highlight of our visit to Rome! ..Read less

When we arrived at their office there were several people in the lobby angry because of delays or they didn’t get their tickets. Our tour left 45 minutes late. And Because of the rain we couldn’t do the underground tour, ..Read All

but the company did refund us the difference. This company seems very disorganized. Lots of staff sitting around in the office not doing anything, which creates a lot of anxiety when nothing is happening and your tour is already 1/2 hour late. They are horrible in communicating with you. Difficult to find out information about your tour. People had to get irate to get someone to react. Tremendous bottleneck because all the staff were waiting for the approval of the one boss who isn’t on site. Creates a sloth environment. We did get our tour which we are grateful, but everyone had to wait and many people were waiting close to an hour or more. I think they are buying some of the tickets the same day, which is what causes the delay. Our guide didn’t seem to be connected to their company but maybe to another company or to the colosseum itself. They are basically just upselling you the ticket. Booking this company will be a coin toss if you have a good or bad experience. Hate to put a negative review, but people travel from far away to see the colosseum and should expect a better experience. ..Read less

undegrounds of the Colossum. On the 23rd June (one day before our pre-booked Colosseum Tour), we received a DoTravel "Don't Forget Your Activity" reminder email. We arrived at Roman Empire Tours on 24th June for our 11.45am tour only to be told our tour was cancelled in its entirety and there was no way we would be able to tour the undergrounds of the Colosseum. The person at Roman Empire Tours was somewhat rude, he insisted that DOTRAVEL had been informed of the cancellation of the tour and that DOTRAVEL had email me informing me of this cancellation. When pushed on this, he showed me an email that was supposedly sent 24hrs prior to our actual tour date. The only email I did receive was the "Don't Forget Your Activity" reminder email. We were ultimately offered a general tour with a guide approximately 2hrs later in the day. We originally paid 60Euro per person. The new second rate tour was 45Euro and we were told we would get a refund, which we are yet to see. To say we were disappointed and frustrated is an understatement. ..Read less
