Experience the magic of Iceland’s northern lights on this small group evening tour from Reykjavik, designed to give you the best possible chance of witnessing the aurora borealis. Your adventure begins with pickup at a pre-arranged location in the city, where you’ll meet your experienced driver-guide for the night.
Leaving Reykjavik behind, you’ll travel to carefully chosen spots away from city lights, guided by the latest weather and aurora forecasts. To maximise your chances, your guide may move between locations during the tour, adapting the route as conditions change.
While waiting for the lights to appear, you’ll stay warm with cosy blankets and enjoy hot chocolate and traditional Icelandic treats. Your guide will share stories, local insights, and the science behind the aurora, and can help you set up your camera for night photography.
Once the northern lights appear, your guide will take professional portrait photos of you beneath the glowing sky using high-end camera equipment. These portraits, along with images of the aurora from the night, will be emailed to you after the tour.
The northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings can never be guaranteed. If they don’t appear, you’re welcome to join the tour again on another night at no extra cost. After an unforgettable evening under Iceland’s night sky, you’ll return to Reykjavik with memories (and photos) that last a lifetime.
